THE HEART OF ATLANTIS Query Pitch:
At age two, Devon Kensington is dragged with her mother to the depths of Atlantis by the lost continent’s evil underwater king who plans to use his dark magic to amass an army of “merslaves” and other sea creatures that would subdue the “powers above” and take over the world. To save her baby’s life, Mrs. Kensington sacrifices her own, foiling the king’s spell so that it backfires. Little Devon is bestowed with mysterious powers – of which she will not know for over a decade. Also unaware, the king sends her back to land, planning to make use of her later. Now thirteen, Devon learns of her past, of her powers, and of what might be her destiny: to find herself and avenge her mother's death in the heart of Atlantis.
